The Pacesetter Awards celebrate outstanding individuals and companies within the BOMA Raleigh-Durham community who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the commercial real estate industry. This annual event recognizes those making a significant impact, from property managers to young professionals, highlighting their contributions and inspiring excellence in the field. All Pacesetter Nominations will be evaluated by the Pacesetter Task Force, a diverse group of BOMA Members. This team includes a mix of industry professionals to ensure an unbiased and impartial assessment.

General Rules:

  • Individuals submitting applications for consideration of any award must be a member of BOMA Raleigh-Durham or employed by a BOMA Member Company
  • All submissions are reviewed by an anonymous committee of BOMA members and are judged based on the criteria outlined for each award category.  An Anonymous committee is to be determined by the President and shall contain a minimum of five BOMA members.
  • Electronic submissions should include a narrative description outlining the worthiness of the candidate’s consideration.
  • The building, facility size, or class is not used as criteria for any award given.  Awards are given based on information provided and adherence to the guidelines specified for each category.

Rising Star Award (Formerly Young Professional Award)
The Rising Star Award recognizes emerging talent within the BOMA Raleigh-Durham community. It is presented to a member who has been active in BOMA for three years or less and has demonstrated excellence early in their career. Award for Principal Members only.
Nominees should:
•    Exhibit commitment to professional growth by actively pursuing educational opportunities.
•    Shine within their company and industry through exceptional performance and engagement.
•    Represent the next generation of BOMA leadership and the future of the commercial real estate community.
This award is designed to encourage and spotlight professionals who are already making an impact early in their BOMA journey.


WINNERS OF EACH PACESETTER AWARD CANNOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SAME AWARD WITHIN A 5-YEAR PERIOD. Please check the list below to ensure that the individual has not won this award in the past 5 years.
