The Gloria Drew Scholarship was established by BOMA/Raleigh-Durham in honor of Gloria Drew, who played a pivotal role in guiding many current and former members through their SMA, FMA, and RPA course designations. Ms. Drew's dedication to education spanned over 30 years at Durham Technical Community College, where she held various positions, including Learning Laboratory Instructor, Human Resources Development Instructor, and Program Director for Community Services Programs. After her retirement, she continued her commitment to education by working part-time at North Carolina Central University.

The scholarship will be awarded to support member development of BOMA and BOMI education programs and education programs at BOMA Conferences throughout the year. The updated scholarship will cover the following:

1. 50% Discount on Local Education: Eligible BOMA members will receive a 50% discount on the full cost of locally provided instructor-led programs.
2. Conference Attendance Scholarships: The scholarship will also provide financial support for members wishing to attend relevant industry conferences, covering registration fees, and travel accommodations as part of the scholarship award.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process:
To qualify for the scholarship, students must demonstrate financial need by submitting a written request to bae@bomardu.com to be forwarded to the BOMA/Raleigh-Durham Education Chair. The request should include:
- The reason for financial assistance
- Expectations for what they hope to gain from the course or conference
- The potential impact of receiving the education program on their future
- Acknowledgment and acceptance of the scholarship guidelines

Scholarship entries must be submitted three weeks prior to the beginning of the course or the conference. All submissions will be reviewed and voted upon by the current Board of Directors, with recipients notified in writing before the course or conference start date.
Class criteria include:
- The student must be enrolled in a BOMA/BOMI course or program.
- The student must be a current member (in good standing) of BOMA/Raleigh-Durham.
- If applicable, The student must complete the course and achieve a passing grade of 70 or above.
- The Student will submit their grade/attendance? sheet to the Education Chair to receive the scholarship funds.
- The scholarship award will apply only to the tuition cost for the course or conference applied for.

Conference criteria include:
-The student must be a current member (in good standing) of BOMA/Raleigh-Durham.
-Must attend the conference in its entirety.
-Attendee will pay all upfront costs.
-Attendee is required to attend all education and speaker sessions
-Scholarship can be used for registration and travel accommodations
